End of 2026 Reflections

By Ernesto Rodriguez | Executive Director

As 2026 comes to a close I am proud to reflect on our accomplishments.  Accomplishements that wouldn't have happended without your support.  Schools continue to struggle with tight budgets, so the only way to help is with your geneorus donations we have received.

The biggest project we have finished is with Allen County Learning Academy.  It is a windowless school for incarcerated teenagers in Indiana.  The judge who runs the school saw an article about Nature In The Classroom in Nice News and contacted us.  We have been adding tree ceilings as donations have come in, and this week we finsihed the remaining classrooms in the school.  The director commented that the tree ceilings have had a significant impact.  They have seen a tremendous drop in behavioral issues and the creation of a socially tighter classroom community.

The other project involves a school in northern Philadelphia.  Aspire Bilingual Cyber School serves autistic children in kindergarten through second grade.  The psychologist that overseas the program saw a podcast I was a guest on and contacted me.  The ceiling will be installed next week.  Dr. Cancelliere will track the impact of trees over the coming months.

Lastly, a tree ceiling is being installed in at Eladia's Kids School, a preschool in Brooklyn, NY.  I can't wait to hear the comments as kids are the best critics.

I have been a guest on severl podcasts this year, including Wild By Nature and Outdoor Classrooms.  You can listen to them on our website, link below.  The year is ending with CNN contacting me interested in featuring our project on their podcast early next year.  I had my first meeting with them this past Wednesday.  It is an icredible summary of where we have come.  Tree ceilings are now installed in 21 school districts across 10 states, serving 10,000+ children.  All because of your generostiy making it happen.  Thank you!
