It has been a poignant season for everyone at our school. We have welcomed more and more students each term. For example, the English Literacy programs increased and Summer programs grew by 32.5%. The rise in enrollment is largely due to families being displaced from Port-au-Prince and other cities in the Central Plateau, fleeing gang violence in the capital and surrounding areas. Coinciding with the high rate of inflation, the past few months proved to be a challenging financial situation for many families. In turn, we have experienced very low tuition rates.
Regardless, our Director is fearlessly building out an agricultural program and continuing to oversee that students, staff and faculty receive the best care possible. We are excited that with your help we are paving the way towards our goal in certifying our teachers. Holding accreditation will give us many more opportunities to come.
With warm hearts, we welcome all to our Happy Haitian family near and far. If you have any questions, partnership suggestions, or would like to volunteer, please email: hhe@handofhaiti.org
