Mangrove planting days and sea turtle fun...

Dear Friends,

In this quarter, we were thrilled to join the Munje ladies for a mangrove tree planting day on the 10th May. We brought with us over 30 students from the all-girls college we visit weekly to conduct conservation workshops. We were able to plant over 60 mangrove seedlings during our visit!

In addition to the mangrove tree planting, the students were given a small project, to collect samples to take back to show the younger students. Through a recent partnership, we acquired 100 foldscopes, a budget friendly Do-It-Yourself microscope, which we used in workshops after the planting to compare samples collected. This whole activity was a great fun, as well as conservation centred and educational!

In June, we held our FOURTH Sea Turtle Festival, this was a huge success, this time receiving recognition on local TV, you can watch by clicking the link below. The ladies joined us to showcase their products and project, this was held on the 18th June and we will share a report and photos in the next report!

Thank you for your continued support!

Until next time,

The CES Team
