Since our last communication, our team of biologists, conservationists, and educators have been busy working hard to engage with our amazing network of supporters all around the world.
COVID-19 continues to change the way we work, and like many organisations, raising much-needed funds is our biggest challenge. The funds raised in March through GlobalGiving made it possible for us to continue supporting our team during these difficult times and we have you to thank for this! With your incredibly kind support in March 2020, we have been able to continue supporting our local staff and push forward with our work.
Funds raised in March were originally going to be used to fund our education programmes, but due to the pandemic, our programmes have had to be temporarily suspended to adhere to safety regulations. Therefore funds raised have been used to support our team as they develop our programmes, so we can hit the ground running once we can resume programme operations. We have also been using this time to engage with our online network of supporters, through competitions, online quizzes and our online store. To add, we are working with teachers in Kwale County to develop packages to be distributed to students during COVID-19, to help support students and teachers, and to ensure that no child is left behind!
We are also excited to share with you our new website, jam-packed with quizzes, regular blogs from our marine team, all our newsletters and reports, information on our programmes, and online sponsorship packages.
In July we published our strategic plan for the next 5 years, outlining our mission, vision, values, and goals. This will be vital in driving our programmes forward and growing our organisation!
Please take a moment to check some of the cool things we have recently developed for you by clicking on the links below;
We really cannot thank you enough for your continued support, it means so much to us that we have you!
Thank you
Marine Team
