Thank you for standing with The African SOUP. With your partnership, classrooms are becoming lively, learner centered spaces and families are accessing the health and social supports that make learning possible.

This year, the Active Learning Project reached 669 teachers across 109 government primary schools, with 218 educators receiving direct supervision and 130 Diploma in Education student teachers trained in active learning methods. At our Demonstration Nursery & Primary School, 815 learners (55% girls) continued to thrive, and 46 Primary Seven candidates were registered for national examinations for 2025.

Holistic support remains central to our approach. Through Emma’s Baby SOUP, 1,255 community members accessed health, nutrition, and family services in just five months, strengthening attendance and readiness to learn. Beyond primary, the Secondary Enrichment Program now supports 90 scholars, with 9 students recently entering universities. We are grateful for our collaboration with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, whose partnership is advancing campus enhancements, including a community health clinic, improved WASH, a dining hall, and new dormitories and enriching arts education as 60 students train with the Voices Of Choir program.

Your gifts fuel day to day impact: school feeding so children do not learn on empty stomachs; safe student boarding; teacher training and school based coaching; maternal child health and nutrition outreach; secondary guidance and scholarships; and the daily work of our Demonstration School. These are the practical investments that turn generosity into measurable change.

We will continue scaling the Active Learning Project with government partners, strengthening the sustainability of the Secondary Enrichment Program, and investing in teacher housing, staff development, and campus improvements alongside key partners.

We are also  thrilled to launch The African SOUP’s 3rd annual Matching Gift Challenge! Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a donor couple who believes in our work and wants to inspire others, every gift made between now and Dec. 31 will be doubled. Last year, we raised over $150,000 through this challenge, which was matched dollar for dollar to contribute more than $300,000 for The SOUP. Help us create hope and opportunity with a gift today.

Thank you!
