Dear Friends of the SOUP,

As we reach the midpoint of 2025, we are excited to share a few highlights of the incredible momentum you are helping to build across our programs in rural Uganda. While full-year data will be available later this year, early results indicate strong progress across each of our core areas:

  • The SOUP Nursery and Primary School continues to grow, with nearly 800 students actively enrolled and engaging in dynamic, learner-centered classrooms. Our music and drama program remains a strong point of pride, and staff retention is again on track to exceed 90%.
  • Emma’s Baby SOUP (EBS) is reaching hundreds of families with life-saving maternal and child health care. Dozens of mothers have already delivered safely this year, and we are seeing steady progress in nutrition, immunization coverage, and household stability.
  • Home construction and hygiene support have continued, with vulnerable families moving into safe, clean living spaces supported by hygiene kits and community education.
  • On the economic side, caregivers are continuing to launch or grow small businesses, many through our Street Business School training model.
  • And one of our biggest milestones of the year is the start of construction of our new community health clinic in Nabikabala Village in 2025! Final preparations are underway, and we are thrilled about what this will mean for accessible, quality care in our community.

We look forward to sharing detailed outcomes and stories with you in our year end report, but for now, we want to thank you for your role in making this progress possible. Your support helps drive the kind of change that is rooted in local leadership, powered by community partnerships, and centered on dignity and opportunity for every child and family we serve.
