Dear Donors,
Greetings from IDEA Foundation
As you know, IDEA Women Empowerment programs works towards the betterment women from the underprivileged section of the society. Before implementing a program in a locality, we conduct Need Assessment surveys for skill development programs for women in different communities. Our UMANG project is focused on skill development programs for women from Dighi, Shantinagar, Bopkhel and Ramnagar.
Under UMANG Project we have trained approx.431 women in basic and advance tailoring, Beautician course art and craft classes in last six months. By these programs we aspire to make women from poor communities financially independent by building their capacity to earn a living.
These vocational courses are clubbed with different activities and soft skill training programs for women. These programs focus on making women financially independent and self-reliant. Women are encouraged to apply their new skills for their betterment and livelihood. We conduct exposure visits, Soft skill training programs, Art and craft fairs and EDP training program for our students.
To understand business planning and to motivate our students who are enrolled in IDEA skill development courses, we have arranged a 6 day EDP training program under our project UMANG , in Dighi. To start and run a business efficiently, one also needs soft skills. The program covered various aspects of such as Business plan development, Branding, market identification and survey,Consumer behaviour, Communication skills, Record & inventory management etc. These qualities were delivered to women through methods like skit, role play presentation, case study and other interesting ways. This training was conducted by our staff who have received ‘ Training of Trainers’ by external experts .
IDEA also organized an exposure visit for women who were very keen to start business to an organization called Swayamsiddha in Kolhapur. It was a two day program. Swayamsiddha empower women and make them self- reliant through informal, conventional and non- conventional education. Our students got an opportunity to learn about starting a small scale business, working of different type of markets and also about others’ experiences in this field. For most of them, this kind of exposure is a first time experience as they never had a chance to leave home and see the World from a different angle. Exposure visits give women confidence to start a new venture and to be self sustainable.
Thank you dear donors for your contributions and being a part of IDEA Foundation.
