IDEA  conducts many vocational training programs for underprivileged women, such as Beautician course , Tailoring Course , Home chef course , Computer training ..etc. Many women are getting benefitted of these programs. Here is a story of woman from one of our training centres located in Sutardara.

Sutardara is a small locality in Kothrud, Pune, India .The area accommodates people under the below poverty line mark. The inhabitants of this region are mainly urban workers, who manage to fetch themselves meager income. The living standard is at the rock-bottom and apparently the residents survive in small unhealthy living spaces. One such occupant in Sutardara is Priyanka.

Priyanka, a mother of two daughters, dwell in a one-room rented apartment with her husband and father-in-law. She migrated from Junnar to Pune city few years back. She was not only astonished with the fast pace of the city but was also determined to match the steps. Priyanka, who has studied only till 11^th grade, took reasonable time to transform to the growing environment. She understood that income and empowerment go parallel and hence developed a will to earn. Her bundle of skills was only restricted to basic tailoring as she was exposed to the same at a younger age.  She started taking stitching orders but failed miserably. The reason behind the disappointment was lack of efficiency in her stitching expertise. She realized that her existing dexterity is insufficient. In the time being, word of mouth introduced her to IDEA foundation’s Advance tailoring course. Her eagerness to learn helped her to complete the course successfully. Not only her former ability in stitching was polished but she also enlarged her artistry and learned new techniques. Priyanka was now trained and prepared to take stitching orders and deliver clothing styles that were in trend. She resumed with her work. Initially, she was unable to evoke customers but there was no turning back. The few clients she bagged were immensely satisfied with her work. Her newly learnt skill in stitching beautiful blouse neck designs became her specialty and also her selling point.  Her clients recommended her work to others and a regular flow of customers was ensured.

On an average, Priyanka earns a monthly income of Rs.3000 and festivals like Diwali make her earn up to Rs.8000 . She is pleased with the grossing of money and aims to multiply it in the future with her tough grind. Priyanka plans to save her hard earned money for the bright future of her daughters. She aspires to provide her daughters with education, a better living and all the happiness they deserve. IDEA foundation encourages assistance to women like Priyanka who are budding talents and are ambitious to uplift themselves.
