We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give!

Dear Donors,

Greetings from IDEA !

Thank you very much for your generous contributions and for being a part of IDEA mission to create equal opportunities for all.

As you know, In many developing countries like India girls drop out of schools earlier than boys.  Girls, especially from poor communities get married and have children at an early age or as soon as they are eighteen. They are very less likely to work for pay or work outside their homes. This indicate low social and economic  progress of women and may have consequences  for  poverty and affects their well being.

The awareness of employment opportunities of women can play an important role in changing this situation. So IDEA  started these awareness programs and skill development programs for women to give these women a second chance to work and earn an income and to lead a better life. We have many success stories about women who got trained in our training centres and started earning and supporting their family.  Hope these initiatives will change the attitudes of parents about girls’ education as now they understand that there are equal employment opportunities for women as well.

Komal lives her dream! Thanks to IDEA .

Komal, like many other women had dreams and aspirations to make changes in her life. As parents may not invest as much as in their daughter's education as their son’s,girls always have to opt for marriage as soon as they get a proposal. So Komal had to get married soon after she completed 12th.  Leaving her dreams behind, she started her new family, like every other girl in her community.  Soon she had her first child.

When IDEA started tailoring classes in her community, she was eager to join and learn tailoring. She completed both basic and advanced tailoring classes with great interest and enthusiasm. As soon as she completed her training, not only she started earning but also started giving training to other women in her community. She has trained already 20 women. She aspires to be a fashion designer one day. These success stories give IDEA encouragement to create more opportunities for women employment. These skill development programs in IDEA centres also help parents to anticipate better employment opportunities for women, and thus promote girls’ education.

Please continue to support us so that we can work more efficiently and spread our efforts to more communities.
