Warm Greetings from IDEA!
It gives us immense pleasure to look back at this passing year. Together we have initiated, although small but significant activities under our project “ENGAGE AND EMPOWER GIRLS AND BOYS FOR GIRL EFFECT”
This year a total of 135 young women and girls are benefitted by our different Vocational training courses in -
Young women and girls who have dropped out of school and due to many reasons like migration and family responsibilities cannot go back to school are enrolled for these courses. Most of these women are making good use of the crafts learnt here and are getting good value for their products like paper quelling articles, jelly candles and gift articles which they sell in neighborhood markets and special exhibition for NGOs. This year our beneficiaries got overwhelming response for their products at more than 10 such NGO fairs. They say that this is a great way to generate additional income for their families and it makes them proud to contribute to the family income. Courses in Tailoring are also in high demand and they are going on in full swing. Retail Marketing is catching up especially with young girls who want to take it up later as a career.
Life skill sessions for 460 Adolescents on –
We started this project last year to empower young girls and to bring about an attitudinal change in young boys regarding topics like gender sensitivity and adolescent health. The Project is creating opportunities for marginalized girls for their self development through anemia control program, sponsorship support to continue education in high school, health & nutrition awareness, family life education & training for employability enhancement. Through this project we are helping many girls to stand on their feet and stand up for themselves and we are very happy to observe positive changes in our youth. It is all because you care.
