Ending cervical and ovarian cancer awareness

Cervical and ovarian cancer continue to affect women and families, particularly in communities where access to health information, screening, early diagnosis, and appropriate treatment can be limited. For us, ending these cancers is not only a healthcare issue, it is about protecting mothers, daughters, and community leaders whose lives are important to the wellbeing of their families and communities.

Cervical cancer is particularly important because it is largely preventable. The World Health Organization reports that cervical cancer caused approximately 604,000 new cases and 280,000 deaths globally in 2024. WHO also emphasizes that HPV vaccination, regular screening, early detection, and timely treatment can prevent many cases and save lives. The burden is especially high in low- and middle-income countries like Nigeria where access to these services remains unequal.

Through the donations we received on the GlobalGiving platform, Helpers Foundation team have schedule Cervical and ovarian cancer awareness program starting 10th Oct. in Enugu state. 

Our campaign focuses on awareness, education, prevention, and encouraging women to seek appropriate medical screening and care. We want women and girls to have the information they need to recognize the importance of prevention and early detection and to understand that seeking medical advice early can make a life-changing difference.
