Gambia has banned FGM. Over the last two years, since our organization started working in the Gambia we have played a key role in lobbying the president and government officials. Gambia banning FGM doesn’t mean it’s the end of our battle. It means its time to intensify our advocacy and reach more people. Laws are helpful but they are not enough to change mindsets.
We need more donations to start building our young women’s center. The government of the Gambia has been very generous and donated land to us. Now all we need is more financial support to continue.
Thank you all for supporting this project and we look forward to your continuing support.
