The Absa Rhino Run 2025 took place over the weekend of 25-27 July 2025 on Manyoni Private Game Reserve, and this year’s event was our most successful yet.
A total of 300 participants took to the reserve’s trails, running through some of KwaZulu-Natal’s most iconic landscapes while raising critical awareness and funds for rhino conservation. The event brought together runners, conservationists, and supporters in a collective effort to stand against poaching and ensure the long-term protection of endangered species.
Through the generosity of participants, sponsors, and supporters, the event raised an incredible R1,466,104.45. These funds will directly support endangered species protection efforts on Manyoni Private Game Reserve, with a particular focus on rhino conservation. Specifically, the funding will strengthen security operations and contribute to the costs of dehorning and horn trimmings, an essential proactive measure to reduce the risk of rhinos being targeted by poachers.
The success of the Absa Rhino Run 2025 demonstrates the power of community-driven conservation initiatives. Each step taken on the trail has contributed to safeguarding rhinos and other endangered species, ensuring that the reserve continues to serve as a safe haven for wildlife
