End Violence Against women & girl child

Violence against women and girls (VAW) is one of the most rampant human rights violations. According to United Nations estimates, one in three women world-wide has experienced physical or sexual violence because she is a woman1. Violence is a major obstacle to women’s and girls’ development, and to the welfare and development of their communities and societies as a whole.

Project objective:

-      To identify the behaviours and attitudes of victims experiencing violence against women (VAW) which impede them from breaking free from the cycle of violence; b. To raise awareness among vulnerable groups of women with a focus on women with disabilities; migrant women; and lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex (LBTI) women, and for them to be informed about support services and protection measures;  

-      To raise awareness among children and youths, and actively engage boys and men in the fight against VAW;

-      To develop and implement an educational programme for children and young adults on VAW prevention and spread a clear message of zero tolerance to VAW.

Program:

Women for women organized the Bi-monthly meeting in the project villages. We covered 100 villages in Tiruvannamalai and vellore district. Totally we covered 2,00,000 people in One year period,

We gave the orientation about Violence against women and girls (VAW).

How to reduce the violence against women and girls. Awareness will be created by pamphlets.
