Hello GlobalGiving Supporters of End of Land,
Thank you again for your donation to our project. We're writing at the moment with our quarterly GlobalGiving update!
Thanks to the generous support of our GlobalGiving community, as well as a recent grant from the Sundance Institute's Documentary Film Program, our team has been continuing our work to develop End of Land. While the COVID-19 pandemic has paused our plans to scout and shoot in Yamal in person, we have delved deeply into anthropological, sociological and historical research to gain a complex understanding of the sociocultural, political economic and historical forces that shape life in western Siberia.
Furthermore, our US-based team has had the pleasure of working with Russian and Siberian collaborators to learn more about potential story lines to follow, the devastating impacts of our global climate crisis as well as how the pandemic is affecting life in Yamal. With their expertise, we are begining to craft a potential new production plan for shooting the film in the Spring of 2022.
We will look forward to continuing our work with our collaborators, as well as fundraising and sharpening our creative vision for sharing this important story.
Thank you for your support and interest in End of Land. We look forward to staying in touch!
Warmly,
Sara & the End of Land team
