Every hour, someone in the United States dies from melanoma. It remains the deadliest form of skin cancer—even as melanoma research has transformed cancer care for millions worldwide.
Melanoma cases continue to rise. For patients with advanced disease, nearly half will not respond to existing treatments. For those with rare forms such as acral, mucosal, and uveal melanoma—or for patients who stop responding altogether—treatment options are heartbreakingly limited. Behind these statistics are mothers, fathers, children, and friends whose lives hang in the balance.
