You heard that ripe! We've got 3 tons of tomatoes!

Our farming project started with some challenges, but we have come a long way. We are proud to say that we have harvested almost 10,000 tomatoes over the last few weeks, equating to nearly 3 metric tons of produce. We worked closely with three cooperatives throughout the project, and the most successful one is now known for being the go-to tomato farm in their neighborhood. This is a remarkable achievement for those living in an underprivileged community, as they are no longer dependent on aid and are now able to generate enough income to invest in their future.

The newfound success of the cooperative has not only earned them respect within their community but has also allowed them to purchase a much-needed water tank. As the community lacks modern plumbing and running water, the tank will prove to be a valuable asset, ensuring they have water available to them on a 24/7 basis.

Looking ahead, we plan to continue our support of all three cooperatives by intensifying their cooperative management, crop management, and problem-solving skills in the upcoming months. We will also work with them to identify a crop that has the potential to provide high returns when it is ready to be harvested in a few months.

None of this would have been possible without the compassionate support of our donors. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and look forward to continuing to improve the lives of those living in underprivileged communities in Zambia.
