Behind the challenge of early child marriage are social pressures that can limit a girl's freedom, education, and ability to determine her future.
The Girl Child Foundation Uganda recognises that lasting progress requires communities to question harmful expectations and embrace practices that protect children's rights.
In some vulnerable households, girls may experience pressure to marry before reaching adulthood because of poverty, traditional expectations, or limited awareness of the consequences.
We are committed to promoting positive change through community awareness, family engagement, and advocacy for girls' protection and development.
Every girl deserves to grow up in an environment where her voice is respected, her aspirations are encouraged, and her rights are protected.
By supporting this initiative, donors are helping create communities where childhood is protected and marriage is never treated as a substitute for education, opportunity, or a secure future.
