Children Miss School Due to Water Fetching Burden

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank you for your interest in the End Child Labour with Solar-Powered Water Access project. At this time, no donations have been received, so the planned borehole installation has not yet begun.

Across many rural communities in Northern Nigeria, children spend long hours each day fetching water from distant sources. This limits their time for school and exposes them to physical stress and unsafe conditions.

Without access to clean and nearby water, families face daily hardship. Children are often required to support household needs, which affects their education and future opportunities.

This project is designed to install three solar-powered boreholes within these communities, providing safe and reliable water close to home. By reducing the need for long-distance water collection, children can attend school more regularly and focus on learning.

Families will also benefit from improved access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene, helping to reduce illness and improve daily living conditions.

With the right support, communities can experience better health, improved school attendance, and reduced burden on children.

We appreciate your time in learning about this effort and remain hopeful that support will come so this project can begin and reach communities in need of safe water access.

Thank you for your kindness and continued support.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
Project Leader
