For many young people who have lived on the streets, leaving the street is only the beginning of the journey. The road to university remains difficult because poverty, interrupted education, and the absence of family support continue to stand between them and their dreams. Our project, “Enable Former Street Children to Go to University,” was created to help break this cycle. With a total budget of US$80,000, the project will provide university scholarships, registration and learning materials, monthly living support, preparatory education, and guidance through university application and enrollment processes. Our goal is simple but powerful: to give resilient young people the opportunity to earn a degree, build a professional future, and become positive examples within their communities.
At this stage, no project funds have yet been raised, but important preparatory work is underway. We are currently identifying suitable trainers and potential learners and preparing the conditions needed for the programme to begin. The project is designed to address not only financial barriers, but also the educational gaps that many former street children face after years of disrupted schooling. Through preparatory classes, academic support, and individual guidance, participants will be better equipped to meet university requirements and succeed once enrolled. We believe that support should go beyond helping a young person enter university—it should help them remain there, graduate, and build an independent life.
We are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving for its collaboration and for helping us connect this important initiative with a wider community of international donors. With this partnership, we believe that reaching our US$80,000 fundraising goal is possible. Every contribution can help turn a university dream into a real opportunity for a young person who has already overcome extraordinary challenges. We warmly invite individuals, foundations, companies, and organizations to join us in making this project possible. Your support can help transform a former street child into a graduate, a professional, a community leader, and a source of hope for others. To all our current and future donors, thank you for believing that a young person’s past should never determine the limits of their future.
