A few months before the conclusion of the first cohort of the Empowering Futures Program, we are witnessing remarkable progress in equipping teenage mothers and out-of-school boys and girls with hands-on skills and psychosocial support. This transformative initiative is not only providing practical skills but also instilling confidence and resilience among participants.
Participants have been actively engaged in creating beautiful pieces in preparation for their graduation and exhibition, scheduled for May 2025. The program ensures that each participant receives the necessary support and resources to continue their training journey successfully.
Recognizing the role of boys and young men in shaping community dynamics, our program actively involves them in mentorship and advocacy. Through this approach, they are becoming allies in the protection of young girls and their peers.
Joakim, a 17-year-old participant, was nearly forced into marriage due to family and societal pressures. However, through our art-infused wellness sessions and supportive talks, he found the courage to speak up. By engaging his family in open dialogue, we helped alleviate the pressure, and now Joakim is focused on completing the program. He aspires to start his own workshop, empowering himself financially and securing a better future.
Why Your Support Matters
Through the Empowering Futures Program, we are ensuring that every young person—regardless of their circumstances—has the opportunity to thrive. Stories like Joakim’s highlight the importance of creating safe spaces where youth can break free from societal pressures and build sustainable futures.
Your support makes this possible. Every contribution helps us provide essential resources, mentorship, and training to young people in need. Together, we can break the cycle of teenage pregnancies, equip youth with valuable skills, and foster a future filled with opportunities.
We deeply appreciate your continued generosity and belief in our mission. Every penny counts, and with your help, we can empower more young people to achieve their dreams and create lasting change in their communities.
