Project Report | Oct 31, 2024
Empowering Girls for a Resilient Future 2024

By Bwambale Bernard Molho | Founder & Executive Director

Reporting Period: July 2024 - October 2024

Key Highlights:

  1. Equipment Acquisition: We successfully secured 2 manual and 7 electric sewing machines, along with 4 carpentry tool kits. These essential resources will empower beneficiaries to develop their skills, produce reusable sanitary pads, and engage in carpentry projects, fostering economic independence.

  2. Sustaining Beneficiaries: Currently, we are supporting 31 teenage mothers and 9 out-of-school boys, providing them with training and resources for six months starting July 2024. This support includes vocational skills development and access to reproductive health resources.

  3. Community Outreach: We conducted a successful community outreach event that engaged over 100 community members. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sexual and reproductive health, as well as the resources available to support young people in our community.

  4. World Youth Day Celebration: We celebrated World Youth Day by engaging over 500 pupils from surrounding schools in discussions about the importance of education and retention programs for school-going girls and boys. This event fostered community dialogue and highlighted the challenges faced by youth, particularly in accessing education.

Our project continues to make significant strides in addressing the reproductive health needs and educational barriers faced by teenage mothers and out-of-school youth in Kasese. The acquisition of equipment, ongoing support for beneficiaries, successful community engagement, and advocacy efforts during World Youth Day underscore our commitment to creating lasting change. We look forward to building on these achievements as we work towards our long-term goals of reducing teenage pregnancy rates and increasing school retention for girls and boys in the community.
