Dear Friends,
Thank you for supporting World Heart Beat Music Academy via Formation Architects’ GlobalGiving Fundraiser, ‘Empowering South London's youth through music’.
As you know, this fundraiser will help raise money for the refurbishment of the Podcast Studio at World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens. This includes fitting out with tech and facilities to provide opportunities and experience for children or adolescents who are keen to progress in the music industry. These opportunities help young people find the transformative powers of music, as well as providing life-changing opportunities that build confidence, self-esteem and career paths in creative industries.
This week, our older students will begin their one-year production course as part of our EMERGE programme, which provides industry training and talent development to support young people looking to start a career in the music industry. This was a sell-out course, with many left remaining on a waiting list! We will also deliver monthly networking events as the vehicle for industry insight, mentoring and masterclass sessions and provide a platform for creative sharing.
Our tech volunteer programme goes from strength to strength with eight young people gaining invaluable experience and clocking up over 500 hours last year alone! Our volunteers assist with live sessions, broadcasting, and live streams – anything from lighting design configuration, audio tech for live shows and recording sessions, cabling, mic'ing, auditorium layout and assistant engineer on recording sessions.
This weekend, as part of the nationwide Music for All: Learn To Play weekend, we are holding a Music Production Taster Workshop, specifically designed for 11- to 14-year-olds. Delivered by The Urban Dream Chasers (TUDC), it’s a hands-on, interactive session introducing young aspiring producers, musicians, and singers to music production. Participants will use Logic Pro (music production software) to learn the fundamentals of creating beats, adding melodies, basic mixing techniques all whilst engaging in fun, collaborative activities.
To thank you for your support, we would like to invite you to The Music of Michael Csányi-Wills concert on Saturday 12 October. Award winning composer and pianist Michael is known for his diverse portfolio spanning chamber music, choral and orchestral compositions, and film scores. His orchestral pieces have garnered widespread acclaim across the UK and beyond and his scores for over 40 films. The concert will be performed with stunning immersive sound technology from d&baudiotechnik. For half-price tickets, please use code GG50 at online checkout.
If you would like to find out more about World Heart Beat, please visit our website, sign up to our eshot, our Memberships Programme (starting from £25/year) or come to any of our year-round concerts - all of which positively impacts the lives of young people living in South London.
Thank you,
World Heart Beat
