In Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, women and young people face the combined challenges of food insecurity, unemployment, limited access to productive resources, and rapid urbanization. Our urban agriculture project was designed to respond to these challenges by providing practical training in sustainable farming, access to seeds and basic tools, and support for establishing small urban gardens that can improve household nutrition while creating opportunities for income generation. We are currently in the preparation and resource-mobilization phase, identifying trainers and learners and preparing the project for implementation.
The project requires US$10,000, and we have not yet raised funds toward this goal. With the support and global reach of GlobalGiving, we are hopeful that we can connect with donors who believe in locally led solutions and help us move forward with implementation. Every contribution can help provide a woman or young person with knowledge, agricultural inputs, and an opportunity to produce food and strengthen their livelihood.
We sincerely thank GlobalGiving and everyone who supports our vision. We now invite donors around the world to stand with women and youth in Goma. Your contribution can help turn an empty urban space into a productive garden, practical skills into income, and a small project into a lasting source of food security and resilience.
Together, we can grow more than food—we can grow opportunity, dignity, and hope.
