Resilience in the journey of access to education

By Reginah Sanyu | Founder

We are still fundraising for the zero balance of the secondary  school fees. Our efforts in March’s  little by little campaign helped clear the balance of 5 students. Bringing the total to 9 of the 30 students. That provided a relief and it felt good to do that in one payment. We have 21 students whose school l fees balance we are eager to clear. Ten of those students are currently preparing to take their Senior 4 exams.

The parents have also been doing their best to help us reach zero balance. A mother of two students in our program sold cabbage from her garden to the school to contribute to the school fees. Together with EarlyBird256, we were able to present the full balance to the Busoga High School administration and cleared the two students.

Another student, Edith , one of the students who completed their Senior 4, helped clear her fees by selling chickens she was raising during her break. Moments like these remind us of the power of doing little things with passion and the need to get creative to meet our goals.

The goal is to fundraise to complete the school fees balance while helping the second group of students (10)  take and pass their Senior 4 exams. We are grateful for the monthly donations that help us make monthly payments to bring down our balance of $8,000 to complete the school fees balance of a class of 30 students attending boarding school. It takes a village and we are grateful you are part of ours.
