The project continues to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged children in Uganda. We’re excited to share our progress, including the current status of our fund, our financial goals, and the latest initiatives that were made possible by all the fantastic members of the EarlyBird256 squad.

Current Enrollment and Partnership:As of now, the EarlyBird256 Education Fund supports 31 students enrolled at Busoga High School. Without EarlyBird and the support of our donors, these students would not be able to stay in school and build a better future for their community.

The fund pays for half of each student’s tuition, which amounts to $45 per semester. The other half is covered by the high school as part of our partnership with them. The Ugandan school year is divided into three semesters, and we are entering the third semester. Our goal now is to cover the remaining second-term fees for 13 of our students.

Financial Situation and Gratitude:While the campaign is slightly behind its financial goal, we operate under the principle of "Doing Little Things With Passion." We have made strong relationships with local partners, school administrators and teachers who continuously support our initiatives even when we are unable to properly compensate them. Our collective efforts and dedication to the same mission have allowed students in Kamuli access to quality secondary education.

Campaign: The goal of our campaign is to raise $10,000. We have raised our first $75, which covers almost two semesters of school for one student. With a fee of $45 per semester, the annual cost for one student's education totals $135. With 31 students, the fund requires a budget of $4,495 per year to sustain our scholarship program and keep these students in school.

Learning Experiences and Workshops: The EarlyBird256 Education Fund not only supports these students financially, but also invests in their holistic growth through educational workshops we provide for the community. Some recent activities include:

  • Agricultural Exhibition: Students participated in an Agricultural Exhibition, where they learned about utilizing gardens for nutritious food and environmental learning. They gained insights into sustainable farming practices that benefit both individuals and the environment. EarlyBird256 paid for transportation, lunch and entry fees for the students.
  • Community Engagement - "Keep Kamuli Clean" Campaign: As part of their community involvement, students engaged in a "Keep Kamuli Clean" campaign. This initiative involved cleaning a two-mile stretch in the community, promoting the values of cleanliness and learning about environmental stewardship.
  • Sex Education Workshop: Collaborating with the nonprofit organization Ask Without Shame, EarlyBird256 organized a sex education workshop for older students. Given the prevalence of early marriages in the region, the workshop aimed to address this issue. The students actively participated, demonstrating curiosity and engagement by asking relevant questions.

Conclusion:EarlyBird’s commitment to providing education and holistic growth opportunities for the underprivileged children of Uganda remains unwavering. We continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these students, and we would love for you to join us in the next chapter of our journey.
