Every school day, thousands of children across rural Uganda arrive in class with empty stomachs. Hunger steals their concentration, weakens their health, and forces many to miss school altogether. At Good Cause Foundation Uganda, we believe that no child should have to choose between learning and hunger. Through this project, we will provide nutritious school meals to vulnerable children, improving attendance, academic performance, health, and hope.
For many children in Uganda, the school meal is the only reliable meal they may receive in a day. Poverty, rising food prices, prolonged droughts, and limited family incomes have left countless households struggling to provide adequate nutrition. As a result, children attend school hungry, lose concentration during lessons, fall behind academically, or drop out completely. Girls are particularly vulnerable, as hunger increases absenteeism and reduces their chances of completing their education.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda will establish and strengthen sustainable school feeding programs in vulnerable schools across Uganda. Nutritious breakfasts and lunches will be prepared using locally sourced food, supporting both children's nutrition and local farmers. The project will: Provide nutritious daily meals to vulnerable school children. Increase school enrollment, attendance, and retention. Improve children's health, concentration, and academic performance.
Your investment will create lasting change for thousands of children and their communities. With $100,000, Good Cause Foundation Uganda aims to: Provide nutritious meals to more than 2,500 vulnerable children. Increase school attendance and reduce dropout rates. Improve academic performance and classroom participation. Reduce malnutrition among school-aged children. Establish sustainable school gardens in participating schools. Strengthen community ownership of school feeding initiatives.
