The project "Empowering Rural Women and Girls with Vocational Skills" is struggling to reach its anticipated fundraising goal, but we remain determined and resilient to empowering rural women and girls. Our project has spent two years on the GlobalGiving popularly known website, but we have not been fortunate to reach our fundraising target. We have written so many friends and partners in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Africa, but we have not crossed two percent in our fundraising.
We continue to provide vocational skills training to a selected few rural women and girls. We have also targeted very vulnerable school-going girls to equip themselves with the educational tools, knowledge and skills to break the barriers to a fulfilled life and decent livelihoods. We provided copybooks and pens to over seventy-five school going girls to encourage them never to give up on their educational goal.
We distributed copybooks, pens, and pencils among these female students at the Give Them Hope Primary and Lower Secondary school in Boe Community, Ganta in Northeastern rural Liberia. We purchase these materials out of the funds transferred by GlobalGiving.
As we provide marketable vocational skills for rural women and girls, and equip school going girls and kids with needed copybooks, pens, and materials, we set the pace to break extreme poverty and inequality among the rural female populations.
These are school-going girls and kids from very low-income backgrounds, and parents are unable to get them the tools and materials that they need for going to school. Give Them Hope, Inc. stepped in, filled the gaps, and ensured that these girls have a successful academic year by completing the school year.
