At Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF), empowerment is never easy—and never instant. Working with persons with disabilities across Punjab means navigating limited resources, rising costs, and deeply rooted social barriers. Yet, despite these challenges, this quarter we continued moving forward with one clear purpose: restoring dignity, mobility, and independence for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
During this reporting period, DWAF delivered critical mobility and assistive support to men, women, and children with disabilities across Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Okara, and surrounding areas. These were not symbolic distributions. Each wheelchair, hearing aid, white cane, and Braille support tool directly enabled a person to move, communicate, learn, or earn—often for the first time independently.
For many beneficiaries, mobility is directly tied to survival. A wheelchair allows someone to leave home and seek work. A hearing aid reconnects a person to family, safety, and opportunity. A white cane restores confidence for a visually impaired individual navigating public spaces. These tools are not charity items—they are gateways to independence.
Alongside physical mobility, DWAF continued its broader struggle to empower PWDs financially and socially. Every distribution was paired with counseling, guidance, and community engagement to ensure that support translates into long-term impact rather than short-term relief.
This work remains challenging. Demand far exceeds available resources, and each quarter requires difficult prioritization. Still, with the continued trust and support of the GlobalGiving community, DWAF is proving that systemic barriers can be reduced—one empowered life at a time.
Your support does more than provide equipment. It strengthens families, restores confidence, and builds a future where persons with disabilities are active contributors to society—not dependent on it. Together, we are not just delivering aid; we are building independence, resilience, and hope across Punjab.
