As of December 17th, Rooted In Hope has raised $6,955 on Global Giving for a total of 1,399 trees that will be planted in Kenya in 2014!
To put this into perspective: Planting 1,399 trees will restore almost 35,000 liters of water annually to the Aberdare watershed, which will help increase the availability of water to nearby villages. By planting 1,399 trees, we will generate over 30,000 Kenyan shillings of income for local laborers that dig the holes and plant the trees. Planting 1,399 trees equates to nearly USD 3,000 of income for local women-run nurseries which supply Rooted In Hope with seedlings used in the planting.
Donors can use our Tree-Tracker Map to see where your trees will be planted. View the exact planting location and use the interactive satellite map on our website at http://rootedinhope.org/programs/program-map/.
