Thousands of children in rural Uganda face barriers to education, nutrition, and healthcare. The Empowering Futures-Uganda project by HELPING CHILDREN INC provides school supplies, meals, medical care, and hygiene support to vulnerable children, helping them stay in school and build a brighter future.
In many rural districts of Uganda, children struggle with extreme poverty, food insecurity, malnutrition, lack of school materials, inadequate healthcare, and poor sanitation. Many walk long distances to school without shoes, attend classes hungry, and lack essential learning materials. Absenteeism is high because of illness, malnutrition, or inability to afford school supplies. These challenges push children out of school and into lifelong poverty.
HELPING CHILDREN INC will implement a child-centered support model in rural Ugandan communities: 1. Education Support School supplies (notebooks, pens, bags) School uniforms and shoes Tuition/top-up support for vulnerable children 2. Nutrition Support Daily school meals Emergency food packs for severely vulnerable families 3. Healthcare Support Quarterly medical camps Basic medicines Health education on malaria prevention, hygiene, and nutrition 4. Hygiene & Water Support
This project will support at least 300 vulnerable children in rural Uganda. Long-term benefits include: Higher school attendance Improved nutrition and reduced illness Increased academic performance Healthier families and communities Breaking cycles of poverty Creating a future generation of educated, empowered youth The impact ripples through entire villages, supporting community stability and long-term development.
