Empowering Futures: Support Vulnerable Children

By MUNASINGHE WIDANAGE CHANDIMA WIJERATHNA | Project Leader

Summary:
During this reporting period, HELPING CHILDREN INC continued preparations for the Empowering Futures initiative, which aims to support vulnerable children in Nigeria through education, nutrition, healthcare, and hygiene services. While the project has not yet received donations, foundational planning and coordination efforts are actively underway to ensure readiness for implementation once funding is secured.

Current Status:
At this time, the project has not received financial contributions. However, we have made important progress, including:

  • Identifying target communities and potential beneficiaries
  • Coordinating with local partners in Nigeria
  • Outlining program components for education, nutrition, healthcare, and hygiene support
  • Preparing implementation and monitoring plans

Challenges:
The primary challenge remains the lack of initial funding, which has delayed the rollout of direct services. As a newly launched project, it requires increased visibility and engagement to attract donors and supporters.

Actions Taken:
To address this, HELPING CHILDREN INC is actively:

  • Promoting the project through online platforms and outreach campaigns
  • Engaging potential donors, volunteers, and partners
  • Strengthening project storytelling and communication materials
  • Preparing for participation in upcoming fundraising campaigns

Next Steps:
Once funding is received, we will begin immediate implementation, including:

  • Distribution of school supplies and uniforms
  • Provision of daily nutritious meals
  • Organizing medical checkups and health education sessions
  • Delivering hygiene kits and sanitation awareness programs

Conclusion:
Although we have not yet received donations, we remain fully committed and prepared to implement this project. The needs of vulnerable children in Nigeria remain urgent, and we are confident that with increased awareness and support, we will be able to launch and deliver meaningful impact.

We sincerely appreciate GlobalGiving’s platform and continued support in helping us reach donors worldwide.
