First of all, we hope while you are reading this, you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.
This year has started under a special situation for all of us. The world is working to go through COVID-19, the best possible way. In Peru we have been under lockdown since mid-March, until today, June 8th. Nobody knows for sure how long this will take.
Our teenager students weren’t able to start high-school because they were supposed to start classes on March 30th.
Maria, a committed teacher from one of the night-schools we work with, told us they are offering their classes using technology: sending them videos, images, and readings through WhatsApp, and giving them live lessons from Monday to Friday via WhatsApp video. To know our students have access to internet are really good news, it has opened a bunch of possibilities for us to work with them, too.
2020 is going to be a year for all of us to remember. For the pandemic of course, but mainly for the power of people determined to keep going no matter the circumstances.
