We are excited to share with you the 7th report of our project Empowering At-Risk Teenage Girls!
After 7 workshops of personal growth, our senior students of six night high schools (and 300 students more from the schools that are willing to work with us next year), attended to the IV Fair of Vocational Orientation to connect with career opportunities. 22 universities and technical institutes participated in our Fair, offering their careers to the more of 600 participants.
It was a deeply inspiring event.
The students wrote in the 'Stars Board', the name of the career they want to study. There you could read: writer, chef, engineer, dentist, singer, nurse, almost every career possible.
They are determined to be professional people, despite their hard stories, the lack of support of the government, discrimination, and poverty. After this year-journey they are stronger, own their Vision Board, have a clearer vision of the path they have to walk, are more determined. They are owners of their future.
Katherine, a student who works as a domestic worker, shared with us: “If you wouldn’t appear in my school, I wouldn’t know what else to do after finishing my senior year. Thanks to your advice I am going to study Hotel Management. I am going to be a professional woman.”
In the name of all of the students we were able to attend this year, a big thank you! They are preparing themselves to apply for universities and technical institutes, because now they know the can. They will break their poverty cycle because you were there for them.
With gratitude,
Claudia
We want to increase the number of schools we attend on 10 by 2020 to reach more of these amazing teenagers, support their efforts and help them find the way to grow and live the happy life they deserve. If you are willing to support them, please donate here. If you know someone who would like to help them, please feel free to share this email. Have a happy festive season and an amazing 2020!
