We are excited to share with you the 5th report of our project Empowering At-Risk Teenage Girls!
We have started our annual program with six night schools in Lima!
The first session was related to design a Dream Board: using a cardboard to paste pictures, words and expressions that inspire them and that help them visualice the future they want to achieve. The girls loved it for many reasons, starting from the diversity of materials they were able to use to design it: colors, markers, glue, stickers, post-it, pictures from full-color magazines, and mainly because they took a time to start dreaming about them, their future, their life. As they told us, they don't use to take a time to think about themselves.
The second session was to make an introspection to write their SWOT analysis. We were touched when one of the girls told us: 'An Opportunity for me are these workshops you are offering us. You are giving us the tools we need to start building our goals'.
Again, as always, a big thank you in the name of each one of these teenagers, who will soon start their third monthly session: 'How to build an inspirational career'. discovering how to use their strengths, passions, interests, and talents to choose a fulfilling career.
With gratitude,
Claudia
