Empowering Clovelina and Her Hekima Place Sisters
In the United States, families are busy sending their children back to school, but it’s not back to school time in Kenya because the school year runs on the calendar year. This means that we’re in the middle of the school year and are busy making sure that our girls are studying hard, sustaining healthy friendships, and engaging in activities that challenge their minds and feed their souls.
Clovelina is one of our girls. Each morning Clovelina’s house mum makes her a nutritious breakfast while she gets ready for school. She eats with her Hekima Place sisters, and then races off to a start a new day of learning, laughing, and growing up. Clovelina loves school- she loves the books and the people, and she’s always ready for a new day. After school she does her chores, and then there’s usually time for some fun. For Clovelina, free time often means painting or drawing. After that there’s dinner and homework, and then she gets ready for bed and goes to sleep knowing that tomorrow will bring a new school day.
Because of your generous gift, orphaned and vulnerable girls in Kenya are waking up to warm breakfasts and a day of learning, laughter and love. They are thriving because of your giving.
