One of the sport that Foundation University athletic scholars play is Volleyball, originally coined as "Mintonette". The volleyball athletic scholarship program of the university started from the grass roots level where the youth who want to obtain a good education are given the opportunity to achieve their dream if they have the skill in athletics.
Volleyball is a great sport to teach in schools because it encourages cooperation and communication amongst athletes which when developed is also an important life skill. It teaches important lessons in perseverance, teamwork and selflessness that prepares the student athletes as they journey to the next stage in their life. In the physical aspect of the sport, the student athlete develops their skills in agility, coordination and balance.
The athletic scholars are trained to join competitions which teach them the virtue of humility and sportsmanship while giving honor to the university who has accepted them to achieve their goals of graduating.
Apart from giving a chance to children who are financially challenged to obtain a good education, the university athletic scholarship program keeps them away from the danger of learning to use drugs.
