Physical Education is suppose to support the physical activity of the school-aged youth. However, coaches and physical education teachers have found it difficult to adapt how sports can be done online. Space, social distancing and moreso that Covid 19 cases have been significantly increasing here in Dumaguete City limits what they can make the students do with the "learn from home" than in-person.
The new academic year has started. It is another year of no face to face classes. While we believed that physical activity is very advantageous to a child's physical and mental health, the coaches are still encouraging the athletes to continue to do their own physical activity inside their homes. We are hoping that the government education department can also try to study how our athletes can maintain their sports activity at home.
It has been a long while that our facilities have not been used. Since it is the start of a new academic year, the coaches have been getting ready just in case the government decides to allow in person sports activities. They are seeing to it that despite its unuse the facilities are still maintained properly. They can also check what equipment are lacking for inventory purposes and can be bought depending on the availability of funds which part of it comes from GlobalGiving donors.
