It has been a year of hiatus for our athletes that has been brought about due to this global pandemic caused by COVID-19. Lockdowns, quarantines and other regulations are strictly implemented by the Philippine government to contain the spread of this deadly virus.
Our athletes who are in their teens are not allowed to go out of their homes. They have been concentrating on their online schooling while coming up with fitness activities in their backyard to keep them in shape as mentioned in our last report.
Meanwhile, in the physical absence of our athletes, the coaches have enrolled in the National Coaching Certification program organized by the Philippine Sports Commission. The aim is to enhance their knowledge and competencies in sports particularly at the grassroots level and develop qualified and globally competitive skills to strengthen sports development not only in Foundation University but in the entire Philippines as well.
Funding from our generous donors through the GlobalGiving Program are very much helpful in helping our athletes pay for their school tuition fees while getting ready in whatever will be the new normal for sports.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
