Project: Empowering 100 Young Women in Hairdressing and Tailoring
Reporting Period: June–September 2025
We are excited to share progress on our project aimed at empowering vulnerable young women with sustainable vocational skills in hairdressing and tailoring. Through your generous support, we have continued to provide training and mentorship opportunities that equip these young women with practical skills to improve their livelihoods and strengthen their independence.
Activities and Achievements
- Enrollment: We successfully registered 15 young women in our training program.
- Skills Training: The beneficiaries are undergoing structured lessons in hairdressing and tailoring, with both theoretical and hands-on practice.
- Mentorship: Trainers and community role models have been mentoring the young women to boost their confidence and prepare them for entrepreneurship.
- Community Impact: Families of the beneficiaries have started witnessing positive change as the trainees practice their skills within the community.
Success Story
One of our trainees, [Insert name or initials], shared how this program has given her hope for the future. Before joining, she struggled to support herself, but now she is confidently learning to sew and style hair, with plans to start her own small business.
Challenges
Our main challenge remains limited resources to expand training materials, sewing machines, and startup kits for the young women once they graduate. With only 15 trainees enrolled, many other young women in need are still waiting for a chance to join.
Next Steps
- Scale up training to accommodate more young women in the next cohort.
- Provide startup kits (sewing machines, salon tools) for graduates to begin earning immediately.
- Strengthen our mentorship program by connecting beneficiaries with established women entrepreneurs.
Appeal for Support
We are grateful for the donations received so far, which have made this program possible. However, there is still much more to do. We appeal for more donations to expand this project and give additional young women the opportunity to acquire life-changing skills. Every contribution goes directly into training, tools, and mentorship that empower them to build brighter futures.
Thank You
On behalf of Blessed Life Foundation Uganda and the young women whose lives are being transformed, we thank all our donors for believing in this mission. Your continued generosity is the key to creating lasting impact.
