A girl in Samburu Village is waiting,
In a small village located in Samburu County, a 14-year-old girl travels several kilometers to attend school. She aspires to become a nurse. However, each month, she misses classes due to her inability to afford sanitary products.
Soon, her family might conclude that marriage is a simpler option than education.
This narrative is not unique to one girl. It reflects the reality faced by many girls and women in Samburu.
The MVET Institute for Empowering Samburu Women was established to alter this narrative - to safeguard girls' education, economically empower women, and restore dignity where poverty has stripped away opportunity.
Even though we have not yet received funding through GlobalGiving, we have not remained idle. We have engaged with community elders, conversed with mothers, listened to girls, and developed a comprehensive action plan. The urgency of the situation is clear. The community is prepared.
We are prepared:
The first donation we receive will be immediately allocated to: Dignity Kits for schoolgirls, entrepreneurship training for women, and community education aimed at reducing early marriages.
Behind every statistic lies a girl eager to continue her education. A mother yearning for income. A community hoping for a brighter future.
Your support will not merely initiate a project; it will pave the way for a future.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
