Project Report | June 2026

By Tfurndabi Cornelius | Project Leader

We are grateful to our supporters and early donors who have helped launch the Empower50Women: Design Thinking for Gender Equality campaign. As of today, the project has raised $50 USD from 2 donors toward our overall fundraising goal of $8,000 USD. While this is a modest beginning, these contributions demonstrate confidence in our vision to equip women and disadvantaged youth in Cameroon with practical design-thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills that can unlock new economic opportunities.

Challenges Faced

The primary challenge remains limited financial resources. Current funding levels are not yet sufficient to implement workshops and training activities at the desired scale. Additionally, increasing project visibility, reaching new donors, and establishing strategic partnerships require sustained outreach and engagement efforts.

Progress Made

Despite funding constraints, Action Lab for Development has continued preparatory activities, including strengthening volunteer engagement, expanding online awareness efforts, developing outreach materials, and exploring partnerships with community stakeholders and private-sector organizations that share our commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment.

Next Steps

  • Intensify fundraising through digital campaigns, storytelling, and donor outreach.
  • Expand volunteer-led advocacy and social media engagement.
  • Build partnerships with businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations.
  • Finalize training materials and workshop plans for implementation once funding milestones are reached.
  • Continue raising awareness about the role of design thinking in promoting gender equality, innovation, and economic inclusion.

Looking Ahead

The Empower50Women: Design Thinking for Gender Equality project remains committed to empowering women and vulnerable youth with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to create sustainable change in their communities. Every contribution, partnership, and act of support brings us one step closer to transforming lives through innovation, creativity, and inclusive development.

We sincerely thank our donors, volunteers, and supporters for believing in this vision and helping us build a more equitable future for women and youth across Cameroon.
