Project : Empower 30 Women in Borabanda slum for Hyderabad (#12034)
Report on : Success Story of women in skill development training
Summary : This project is aimed at empowering women in urban slum areas of Borabanda by providing free sewing and tailoring skill development training to make them self-sufficiency and self reliant.
Background information of the identified Area:
The most pathetic, vulnerable destitute poverty stricken people very much isolated dwell amidst huge buildings of Ranga Reddy District, just adjacent to Hyderabad at a distance of 15 kms of State Andhra Pradesh, India.
A target sample of 30 women, identified from Borabanda slum area are given the opportunity to undergo training in sewing.
Objective:
RDOET (HAO India) identified and selected a set of new batch of 10 deserving women folk in the nomadic colony of Borabanda to provide training in sewing and tailoring.
During the duration of their training the women were well equipped with skill training in sewing and they now became a skilled tailor in sewing. 10 women have successfully completed their training in sewing. After the assessment of the pathetic status, we have prioritized to give free sewing machine to one of the women named Esther with all the sewing kit and accessories, whose family condition is very deplorable.
Esther has become a professional tailor and expert in her skills training.
With the sewing machine provided to her, she started to earn Rs.200/- by stitching one blouse atleast a day. Her standard of living has brought some shape in her life, supporting her family and saving some of the petty amount for the household.
Now all the ten women have became self-sufficient and increase their income by stitching clothes for others and for their own family. The women folk extend their thankfulness to all our valued Donors of Global giving for their valuable support.
On behalf of these women, we extend deep gratitude to the donors for their valuable support, without which these women would have not availed all these opportunities.
We prayerfully request the global giving Donors to come forward to help these women to complete their skill training by their generous support.
With kind regards,
Dr.(Mrs). P. Usha Abraham
