Breaking Groung in collaboration GADD, selected several women to be trained under the last session of our Women's Entrepreneurial Program. The classes lasted seven weeks, from July to the last week of August. The women wanted to learn business skills for the following business fields, tailoring, hair dressing, small shops, buy and sell foodstuff, and others, which will help improve their livelyhood and elleviate poverty in their community.
They learned bussiness skills like feasibility studies, cost analysis and marketing strategies. They also learned creative processes necessary to become and entrepreneur. Again, they were also taught leadership and management skills, which most of them found strange, because they are not encouraged to take leadership and community roles.
At the end of the course, each of them presented and submitted their business proposals, and they all received an attestation each. Their trainer, Marie, made field visits to assess projects and confirm the information provided by the participants. During visits, their trainer also adviced them on how to help their community as an entrepreneur and improved their understanding on funding procedures.
The mixed committee, the credit committee will seat in two weeks time to deliberate on how the various projects will be funded and to decide how much loan will be giving to fund each project. This loan is given to help them begin or expand their business. After they have been granted loans, Breaking Ground will monitor their various businesses to ensure their loans are paid in time.
