Breaking Ground is currently in the planning phase, organizing two sessions of business classes for rural women for the year 2016. Breaking Ground’s program gives women essential business skills through a seven week program, learning skills such as accounting, feasibility studies, and leadership. This program gives them the skills they need to become economic providers in their communities, improving their quality of life and breaking down gender barriers.
Breaking Ground, in collaboration with GADD, is currently selecting 25 women participants to participate in our next round of business classes, beginning in July. These women will follow a series of classes that empower them to run successful businesses in the community. In Cameroon, women are often not encouraged to take leadership or economic roles, and are not given equal opportunities in terms of education and employment. Breaking Ground hopes that our program will begin to break down gender barriers in Cameroonian for a better and more equal world!!
