Did you know that in 2011 the World Bank spent less than 1% of its total budget on reproductive and sexual health and HIV/AIDS programs in Sub-Saharan Africa? And that the African Development Bank spent just over 1.5% of its total budget on reproductive and sexual health and HIV/AIDS in 2011?
These are just two of the findings of research by Gender Action, NAWAD, and other partners on reproductive and sexual health and HIV/AIDS spending in sub-Saharan Africa. Through Global Giving, you have raised almost $5,000 to empower NAWAD to train civil society groups to hold the World Bank and African Development Bank accountable for their investments. How do you think the money should be spent? Contact us at info@genderaction.org
