Project Report | Jul 6, 2026
A brighter start for every child.

By Jasmine Flikier | Communications Director

Thanks to the support of education champions like you, ALNF continues to transform the lives of over 1,900 children and young people every day through the Breakfast Library.

ALNF’s innovative Breakfast Library is a powerful initiative amplifying education outcomes by helping kids in First Nations and underserved communities get the right start to the school day, with access to a healthy breakfast and brand-new engaging children’s books to call their own and take home.

With your support, in the last quarter alone, we have provided an astounding 85,830 breakfast meals and 2,389 brand new quality books to little learners across a range of early learning centres, primary schools, and high schools.

“The support you have given has directly aided in building a positive culture of story time, coming together as a community to share and be settled, fed and prepared for learning. We have regular parents with younger siblings who attend Breakfast Library to be a part of this special time which has allowed another gateway for communicating with families to support and further develop a love and value of reading within families of our beautiful school.”

Creating home libraries for students has also fostered higher levels of independent reading and parental engagement in their children’s learning journeys.

“The parents are so appreciative of the books. One mother said she is so pleased with how many books they have in the house and she sees the children sitting and reading at home independently.”

Thank you for helping to make this vital work possible, and for joining us on our mission to empower children and communities through literacy and education.
