Final Report – Empowering Small-Scale Farmers in Colombia
Project Closure Summary
The project “Empowering Small-Scale Farmers in Colombia” has now been successfully completed. Implemented in the department of Boyacá in collaboration with the farmers associations Tierra Digna and El Convite Campesino, the initiative has achieved its primary objective of strengthening autonomous agroecological seedling production capacities.
All three planned greenhouses have been fully constructed and are now operational. Their implementation was carried out through a participatory approach, ensuring the active involvement of beneficiary communities throughout the process, from design to construction. This has reinforced local ownership and the integration of the infrastructure into existing agroecological production systems.
In addition to the construction phase, a series of technical training workshops were successfully delivered to the participating farmers. These sessions focused on:
A total of 71 direct beneficiaries from the two associations have been involved in the project, contributing to the consolidation of local capacities and collective knowledge. The greenhouses are now managed directly by the associations and are expected to support ongoing agroecological practices and strengthen local production autonomy.
The project builds upon existing organizational processes supported by Proyectar Sin Fronteras Foundation (PSF), which will continue to accompany the associations beyond the project timeframe. This ensures continuity, technical follow-up, and the long-term sustainability of the actions implemented.
With the completion of all planned activities, the project is hereby considered closed.
