Hello dear donors.
This long period has been full of activities both for us in the team, as for the communities we work in.
We have some data we want to share with you. Besides the big smiles and great stories we see every day, we get some data to see the challenges we face in our every day work.
In Mexico there are over 4.5 millones single moms. Nine of every 10 has children under 18 years old.
Over 56% of the people comming to the Learning and Innovation Netowork or RIA are women. This means, approximately 305.388 women have accessed to technology and educational resources in the RIA. Of these, 82% -253.288 women do not have computer skills or are beginners.
The 38.23% of the members of the RIA are housewives and mothers. Their income between $ 2,500 and $ 8,000 mexican pesos per family of 3-4 people.
Some of them come to register their children and are encouraged to take courses. They usually choose:
Basic Computer for adults
Personal Finance
"Misión emprende"- to become an enterpreneur
Developing my personal value
English for Beginners
Thanks to a Social Return on Investment (SROI) study we know that women enrolled in the RIA are 3.86 more likely to get a job and offer a better quality of life to their families.
