Hlomelikusasa aims to address the needs and concerns of rural women and empower them to take their rightful positions in their families and communities through a coordinated network, which provides and organizes training, advice and information dissemination and promotes the recognition of rural women as equals in the society. To reach this goal:

• Hlomelikusasa facilitated 2 workshops on the Trafficking of Women and Children for 51 people.

• Facilitated an HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis workshop that focused on prevention and anti-retroviral adherence. After the HIV/AIDS awareness workshops, participants returned home with relevant information about HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis concerning its impacts on the infected person and their family.

• Continue to provide support to 8 rural communities and group visits have shown an observable difference in how the groups are run and that empowerment has become more expansive (more women are involved in group activities).

• 2 new groups have joined Hlomelikusasa: Egugwini (Isibani Sezwe) and Siphilisiwe HIV/AIDS drop-in center at KwaHlathi; both groups are very excited about joining the organization and are looking forward to their project development.
